Project description: transnational issue the project intends to deal with (max 500 characters) The issue regarding ‘cultural landscapes’ and which strategies to develop in order to maintain them in a sustainable way emerged in the last years as a key topic for the Alps: terraced agricultural landscapes are particularly significant for their large spread throughout the Alpine region and the risk of abandonment they are facing. Such a widespread problem, causing consequences like biodiversity loss, reduction of productive land, increasing geological hazards, loss of a rich ethnographical heritage, is so severe to deserve the attention of international organizations like UNESCO and FAO.
